01, Background
Helsingin Makkaratehdas has made sausages for more than 50 years and has since grown into a versatile food company. Marketing had been handled in-house from the beginning, and influencer marketing had never been tried.
Sales Manager Mika also handles marketing alongside his main role. Every hour spent running marketing is therefore taken directly away from customer work and sales.
02, Challenge
Before Vaiku, Mika compared traditional influencer agencies. The largest quote was €27,000 per year simply to run the agency relationship. Influencer fees were not included.
"There were unbelievable requests just for running the agency, without influencer compensation included. I think the annual quote was €27,000."
03, Discovery
Mika heard about Vaiku at a customer event. Vaiku's team had filmed content at a partner's event, and the result had worked so well that the partner recommended the same approach to Helsingin Makkaratehdas.
Vaiku replied to the first enquiry in under an hour, and a meeting was scheduled immediately. The collaboration began with a briefing about the company and what the campaign needed to achieve.
"I could explain a little about us as a company and what we needed. You listened well and helped me get started."
04, Campaign
The campaign was opened on Vaiku and attracted 38 influencer applications. Mika could choose the creators who best matched the company instead of spending his time searching for and contacting them one by one.
Because the products are fresh, Mika met every selected creator personally, delivered the products, and discussed what a video that felt like Helsingin Makkaratehdas should look like. Even including those deliveries, his total time was only 2–3 hours.
05, Results
The most important output of the first campaign was practical learning: how TikTok and Instagram work for this particular brand, what kind of content feels authentic, and what to do differently in the next campaign.
"We got the practice we needed to develop our approach for the next round of influencer marketing."
06, Mika's takeaway
"With you, the prices make sense, so small companies can also get involved and try how this works."
"The platform was really easy and simple."
Asked whether there is a company Vaiku would not suit, Mika could not name one. His reasoning came back to the same three things: a price that lets a small company start, a platform that requires no learning curve, and time released for the work that actually grows the business.
"I don't see one. This suits anyone without the resources to do influencer marketing themselves. And it frees up so much of your own time for the actual work."
